The ultimate irony of tonight's speech may be that John McCain's attacks on Obama as a celeb lighweight may have actually forced Obama to make a stronger, more grounded, and more politically-effective speech than he otherwise might have.

Every night of this convention topped the previous one, I think McCain and the Reps have their work cut out for them. Of course they will probably just admit defeat in the area of inspiration and concentrate on the politics of mudslinging.
On sort of a sidenote, isn't it ironic that there was a group praying for nasty weather to ruin Obama's acceptance speech and it was a perfect night in Denver and it's possible McCain's convention will be pre-empted by a hurricane hitting New Orleans?

"it's possible McCain's convention will be pre-empted by a hurricane hitting New Orleans?"

Obama gave a great speech. I hope your countrymen heed his message.

It appears there is a dynamic duo at work here. With the GOP's attacks and failed policies and Obama's plan for change, McCains comments seem to provide Obama with a great road map to the White House.

Late Update: Ben Smith aptly points out that the McCain campaign's sneering response to the speech seems at odds with the McCain ad released earlier today that promised to lay off the negativity for this special day.

          Flip flop flip flop.
