FTA - "In the closing pages Buchanan shows how the Bush Regime has broken from the sound policy of President Reagan and is replicating the British folly of self-destruction. "There is hardly a blunder of the British Empire we have not replicated," laments Buchanan."-
This from a conservative in the traditional sense, not one of the new fangled sycophantic Republikans.
There is an Everest of evidence that points to the outright bungling, intentional obfuscation and mismanagement of policy (both foreign and domestic) that this administration has managed to pull off right in front of a willing populace.
The time has come to pay the proverbial piper in terms of - diplomacy, environmental stewardship, economic development and conservation - all of which will be intertwined in the "New World Order".

buchanan and roberts are correct: it is already too late to undo the damage. the only remaining drama is in how soon the change will become obvious.
however the important question is what "we" will do afterwards.
