Harry Potter is a good story, not badly written. People do seek out stories -- they always will. I'm happy for HP's success. I do feel that young people have more of a visual intelligence though. This is not a negative thing, just different. I don't know many young people who love and savor the written word for itself. I know fewer adults these days who willingly take on a 'difficult' (i.e. literary) novel.
