Don't get me wrong - submitting can be a both uplifting and humiliating process - but if you're a first-timmer, please leave all your well-founded dreams of doing Daredevil or Detective Comics on the first try behind - comic book submissions aren't quite that easy, as seen below.

Odd how movies about comic book characters do so well financially while the comic book medium itself is in the doldrums.

Comics use to be big business until the late 80s/early 90s, thats when the media said something along the lines that it was more finacially rewarding, (you made more money) collecting comics then investing in stocks/bonds. That's when the world went crazy and instead of just one run of a title/comic they went into several runs (ie. vol 1 vol 2 etc). That's when both comics and sports cards (baseball, basketball, football) all went down hill, everyone wanted a piece of the action, which killed it for the real collectors. Comics all shot up to about 3.50 to 4.00 or more an issue, and they'd make an issue with 5 different covers or they'd do specials, everything became about money. The diehard fans, still collect, they are sort of like the tortoise and the rabbit, the real collectors move at a slow pace while the people who want to get rich quick moved at the rabbit pace, you remember who came out ahead don't you?
