The Guyanese poet Cyril Dabydeen's novel, Drums of My Flesh, has been shortlisted for the very prestigious prize, the Impac Dublin Literary Prize. The winner gets 100,000 in Irish Pounds. The critics are saying this novel enriches the Guyanese canon. The novel is mainly about a Guyanese father worrying about bringing up his daughter in Canada.
