Dreaming of Something New »

My new book, "The American Dream," is a punch in the nose to George W. Bush and Karl Rove. They smirk while others die. They are getting away with murder. They are robbing us blind.

so do i pop,i gotta say i soul search asking myself,is there anything i can do to help get things back on track
i vote,i watch cspan to try and stay informed,i try and teach my children to be ever vigil in the quest for truth but clearly thats not enough
growing up my dad taught me,rich peops r always gonna run the world but at least with our form of govt we can change who the rich peops r from time to time, hopefully once in a blue moon we find an honest one that will actually try and get things done for the average american citizen, but when they didnt count the votes in florida in 2000(175,000 ovrvotes) they took that theory from me
fast forward 7 yrs later and we have an exec that seems to allow the republican party to run the justice department and we have justice officials pleading the 5th, we have the fbi "doing illegal, but not criminal activitys" but not to worry, they r gonna investigate themselves, the list goes on and on

BoBo, You're rant I believe is so outdated at this point in time. So, at the tone,..... the year is not 1984.

Look at the little animated ad on this site: Lincoln and Washington tap dancing. That's just about what this country is reduced to now, and it get's what it deserves. Why should the USA still deserve a chance in '08 if it waits till then?

6 years ago I would have called this person crazy. Today I have joined the crazy of yesteryears. We as Americans have been spoon fed only that which makes us happy. What this person said about our history is true.It remind me of an interview I saw with a Youngman who wrote a book about racism in this U.S. He said the thing that got to him the most, was how many people refuse to believe it execs in this country. He concluded that these people are so afraid of the truth because to admit it would mean everything they believe or value is a force.
We as Americans need to take a look at what is happening to us. We had a choice between a man we know went to war and got wounded in that war, and a man that didn't but somehow we, well most of you were convinced that the man that never fought in a war was a better war time person. I was almost convinced that this man wasn't even a solder when they were done telling me what a lire he was. Think about it.

"They- Bush & Co. - did 9/11 themselves.
They killed Paul Wellstone.
They sent the anthrax.
They lied about WMD.
They stole two presidential elections.
They would never have told us about Abu Ghraib.
They have secret torture prisons around the world that we were never meant to find out about.
They spy on us. And not because of "terrorism."
They steal the oil.
They want power. They want to be rich.
They could care less about us, about the soldiers, about the freedom of the Iraqi people. They snicker about all that in the back rooms. Sure they do."
Hmm...very interesting read. Thanks poplist!

I'm not sure that I agree with all of it either, but I agree with enough of it to be up in arms again about our present administration. They do send our young people off to die. Do they smirk? I don't know, but they laughed at the fundamental Christians, so I've got to feel that that is a real possibility. They got us into Iraq on a pretext and they are revisionists of history. But, as long as there are "vidmen" of the world who are too obtuse to see through them, what can be done? I'm not for impeachment, but am for indictment. The whole crew.

mcgrievysr:They got us into Iraq on a pretext...
Actually it was a pretext that started in 1998 under CLinton and was passed to Bush when he became President and was 100% supported by the same Democrats who supported it in 1998.....

As for my feelings about what the author says, I doubt any of it is true. On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if BushCo had a hand in instigating 9-11 or in the death of Wellstone or the anthrax mailings.
After all, look at all the other dirty work we know they have done: They lied us into Iraq. The Downing Street memos pretty much prove that. The Libby fiasco nails it down. Now look at Pat Tillman's death and how they lied about that and used the poor devil to recruit more cannon fodder. That is craven, man.
The Bush Crime family is capable of anything. So again, I wouldn't be surprised to discover the author is right about everything he says. I just don't have the facts in hand yet, and I believe we must govern according to facts and truth.
What's more, I believe the low-life Righties who stink up this list defending these fascist criminals would overlook Bush's complicity in 9-11 just as they overlook his many other horrible deeds. Amerika uber alles!

And he has the courage to vocalize his thoughts! some people are afraid to think out loud, others might think they are crazy, seriously tho, you have to be crazy in a way not to think of some of the things he is thinking AND saying. Maybe he will inspire some thought in those who don't think.

I'm less jaded than this guy, but as a Nebraskan trying to break into the writing business, I appreciate him.
You know, I've tortured myself over these issues the last several years and I've come to the conclusion that there is both more going on than we know and less going on than we think there is. We give people in power too much credit. We assume that somehow they are able to plan ahead for certain things, when it is obvious that they couldn't plan their way out of a wet paper bag.
They are simply in it for power, money and power and money. They don't care about us, Republican or Democrat. Liberal or conservative. They simply want us to keep the gravy train running on time. They don't care if our lives are any better, just as long as the gravy gets sloshed into the pig trough that is your local, state or Federal govt.
UP THE REVOLUTION!!!

Bk, I think there is a lot of planning on how to make things go their way, but little to no planning on when their plans go awry! Iraq, the port deal, the Justice officials released, outing Plame, Walter Reed, Foley/Abramoff scandals, almost 20,000 earmarks last year, faults of the Patriot Act, etc....

'We give people in power too much credit. We assume that somehow they are able to plan ahead for certain things, when it is obvious that they couldn't plan their way out of a wet paper bag.' True true true, I think we do that because we want to deperatly believe the Government is to serve the public and surely they will do what's best for the American people, we think that because that is supposed to be the way it is. Really...who was the last person that really cared more about you, the american public and America as a whole, rather then themselves and their own crew??

this is the kind of liberal left wing-nut nonsense that has become the mainstream dem party--the same sort of idealogy that gave us mcgovern and dukakis..some of the biggest GOP landslides ever--the only place this sort of rhetoric is seen as heroic is here on netscape and a couple college radio staions--the rest of fly over country hears stuff like this and thinks crackpot--

You know what, you are exactly the kind of person that the govt. loves. You don't have brains enough to question anything, you just want to keep paying your taxes, driving your SUV and YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYONE ELSE.
You are the kind of person that would walk past a disabled, homeless vet on your way to drop off clothes to the Salvation Army where your friends could see you.
You can keep thinking that it's crackpot, but it isn't. It's about people and it's about America. I don't understand why you hate America so much.

Just one comment on the remarks made by the populist writer:"...stolen two elections..." It is somewhat important to remember than A.Gore (in the 2002 election) won just over 600 counties in the U. S. G. Bush won over 2100 counties. Gore's counties included some of the most densely populated and include the geographical areas where the Clinton administration had made citizens of over 1,000,000 illegal immigrants. The election was nearly stolen in 2002 but not by Mr. Bush....yafoldie

Well, somebody might actually listen to your ramblings and confuse them with facts (I'm not saying it isn't factual, but it is misleading) if you could get the election year right. Al Gore and G. W. Bush ran for President against each other in 2000. Not 2002.
Secondly, don't try to keep pinning illegal immigration on the Clinton administration. The God of the Republican Party Ronald Reagan led the charge that issued a blanket immunity to illegal aliens in the 80's. Hmmmm, who is more responsible for the current troubles?
